Fertile Ground
Inspired by my family’s multigenerational legacy as morticians, Fertile Ground depicts the recurrence of trauma within a lineage as hauntedness. I examine a cycle of domestic abuse through portraiture, reconstructed memory, and metaphor. Generational trauma is not bound by the physical plane or mortality, but instead manifests as a visceral experience of anxiety.
